Meet the Publisher

Ella Coleman is a dynamic inspirational/motivational speaker, purpose, vision and book consultant, and publisher. She is a gifted encourager and adviser on whom others rely. Ella is an accomplished journalist and president of Ellavation Publishing, LLC. She speaks, teaches, writes, and lives the life and biblical principles she shares. Her most requested presentations are on Purpose and Vision, and she helps adults and youth to discover their true identity and potential.  She is the founder and publisher of the award-winning PURPOSE Magazine and is the author of three books—Purposeful Living: Building an Authentic Life and Legacy, Youth Arise: A Poetic Call to Empowerment, and Poetic Overflow.

Ella founded the Purpose For Life Foundation (PFL), an education facilitating non-profit organization that provides specialized teaching, training, and scholarships for youth and adult students, as well as single mothers. Also, PFL is providing food, clothing, shelter, and educational assistance to orphans in West Africa.

Ella’s journalism experience began as a writer and editor for various newspapers and magazines. She entered broadcasting as a media producer for numerous radio and TV stations, and  organizations.  She produced and hosted “Keeping in Touch with the World,” an international, cultural exchange TV show, featuring  guests from over 60 nations for the Columbus International Program.

With her highly focused media skills, Ella has been blessed to cover and interview great people from all walks of life. From civil rights activists Coretta Scott King, to boxing promoter Don King; South African Winnie Mandela, motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, U.S. Ambassador Andrew Young, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Attorney Johnnie Cochran, champion boxer, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many more.

Ella has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication and Broadcasting with minors in Professional Writing and Religion from Capital University. She has a Masters of Arts from the Ohio State University in African Studies/Political Science. She serves on the boards of PFL, Transformational Dream Team (TDT), and Promisedland Orphanage.

Honors include: the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Governor’s Award (the highest of its kind in Ohio); The Eldon Ward Minority Business Award; the Blue Chip Award for Excellence in Communication, the United Negro College Fund’s Distinguished Leadership Award, and a Long Street Bridge Cultural Wall honoree in Columbus, Ella.PurposeOhio.
